Project Update: L‘Avenue Project, Shanghai
L’Avenue, located in the centre of the Shanghai Hongqiao Foreign Business District, was the latest joint investment of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) Group and STDM (STDM) China Holdings Limited. The project consists of a 28-storey high-rise office tower and a 4-storey commercial complex. Total height of the building is 134 meters, with a total investment of 0.5 billion US dollars. The design of the building was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, marking the high standard of the building’s environmental sustainability.
OPTIMIX recommended and provided a series of high performance environmentally friendly specialty dry mortars for use in the project, for fixing artificial stone, the natural marble to the floors of the office tower and the artificial marble for all washroom floors.
L’Avenue was designed by the famous Japanese architect, Mr. Aoki Jun. The external structure is a hyperboloid streamlining concrete structural design using ceramic tiles as decoration. From outside, L’Avenue looks like a lady’s skirt that reveals a dynamic modernism style. OPTIMIX was also involved in the design of the high performance external rendering and tiling system for the façade to provide a durable and sustainable tiling finish. The final system proposed by OPTIMIX was approved by both the designer and the developer. OPTIMIX provided a truly durable, high-performance wall and tiling system for the developer, architects and consultants. Products used:
• OPTIMIX TA338 Tile Adhesive (High Performance),
• OPTIMIX TA313 Tile Adhesive (Semi-Flexible), and
• OPTIMIX TA328 Tile Adhesive (Flexible).
