Situated in the south apron of the former Kai Tak Airport, Hong Kong Children's Hospital is the first children hospital specializing in tertiary services and specialty care for referrals of complex and rare pediatric cases. With nearly 500 beds, the hospital is expected to commence operation in 2018 to create a contemporary welcoming hospital for children while not sacrificing environmental needs. The construction area is about 21,700m², which includes 2 separate 11-storey buildings, central courtyard, basement and other facilities. OPTIMIX’s flooring system and emulsion were employed in the construction works to provide a levelled and flat floor surface.
