Hung Hom Cross Harbour Tunnel is one of the most congested roads between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. The OPTIMIX fast setting spalling system has been adopted for concrete repair to the soffit areas along the northbound and southbound tunnels.

Each tunnel is 1.8 km in length and has been operated since 1972 and, as such, the soffit area for the lower ventilation duct has suffered from concrete deterioration.
