The Grand Gateway 66 in Shanghai has first opened for business in 1999, being the first commercial project set foot in Mainland China by the Hong Kong developer Hang Lung Group. Located in the bustling Xujiahui District, the plaza bearing Eurasian architectural style has instantly become an iconic landmark, sharing the thriving business with other malls in the area. With the rapid development of mainland commercial properties, in order to raise their competitiveness Grand Gateway 66 in 2017 has undergone an optimization project, renovating and transforming the plaza inside out. Since some of the shops would continue to operate during the construction period and to avoid affecting the shops and nearby residents, most of the construction can only be carried out from night to early morning, which was extremely difficult and challenging. OPTIMIX's Shanghai Team worked with the developer and design team and proposed a rapid-set tiling solution that suited this optimization project best, coping with time constraint while maintaining durability. Restoring the premium five-star luxury of Grand Gateway 66, the benchmark of architectural design of Xujiahui business district is newly reimagined. The floor and stone tiling in the renovation has largely adopted OPTIMIX DB390 Semi-Dry Bedding Mortar (Rapid Setting) & DB391 Adhesive Slurry (Rapid Setting), which are conveniently applicable in large areas. There were multiple outdoor site changes in this renovation project, including transforming the main entrance grand staircase into an open-space plaza and the Eurasian-style bazaar "Lan Kwai Fong". The performance of OPTIMIX DB390 & DB391 are more effective in reserving movement space for floor tiles and stones, thereby reducing bursting, serial loosening and spalling.

In the heart of Shanghai Changfeng Eco-business district, a large-scale complex, Guoco Changfeng City, is the first office project that attained LEED Platinum Certification in Putuo District and the first WELL Platinum Grade office project in Shanghai. OPTIMIX gladly helped the project in attaining double Platinum in WELL & LEED. The integrated development adopted OPTIMIX's all-rounded tiling solutions for their ceramic tiles, stones and rock panels. OPTIMIX TA301 Tile Adhesive (Basic), TA312 Tile Adhesive (General Purpose) & TA313 Tile Adhesive (Semi-Flexible) used are all approved by China Environmental Labeling certification, ensuring the requirements on harmful VOC content are met. VOCs are volatile matters that can be natural or artificial caused, adversely affecting health in various ways: irritating nose, eyes and throat, headaches, nausea, harming liver, kidney and the central nervous system. Hence it is critical to choose eco-friendly materials for the health of the space users. With humanity as the core of structural planning, this commercial project is the first office project in Shanghai attaining Platinum in WELL. The WELL Standard improves human health, fosters a culture of health and emphasizes on health development of building space users through intervening the design elements of air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community; and through operating systems and management policies. Guoco Changfeng City is also the first office project in Putuo District pre-certified Platinum by LEED – which means attaining the highest Platinum grade scoring over 80 points in parameters like sustainable facility planning, protection and conservation of water, highly efficient and renewable energy usage, the adoption of eco-friendly building materials and indoor environment quality. At the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the PRC, the 14th Five-Year Plan proposes to promote a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. Digital construction, green buildings and the construction of low-carbon cities have become an indispensable development direction now and in the future. The Tencent Qianhai Towers are situated in the heart of Qianhai Innovative Business Centre, being the third operation base in Shenzhen development and the first project of Shenzhen-Hong Kong collaboration in Qianhai. The towers are currently in the final deco phase.   Designed by KPF Associates, Tencent Qianhai Towers are comprised of two office buildings in the artistic concept of "crystals", creating crisscross lines and multi-facets, hence a stylish look with a sense of high technology.   Early since 2008, Shenzhen has raised the idea of "green metropolis", and Tencent is on board. From the sustainable design of Tencent Seafront Towers recognized by LEED NC gold standard, it embodies Tencent's emphasis on care in humanities and the well-being of their employees.   The Tencent Qianhai Towers are therefore no exception in endeavor to reach the LEED gold standard. Other than intelligence-building with BIM technology, environmental-friendly materials are also important to the architectural space users. For the green materials, OPTIMIX TA312 Tile Adhesive (General Purpose) & OPTIMIX TA313 Tile Adhesive (Semi-Flexible) are selected to be used in the interiors of T1 & T2 office towers. OPTIMIX TA312 & TA313 are certified by the China Environmental Labeling in ultra-low VOC content.   OPTIMIX TA312 & TA313 are both complied with industry standard EN12004 C1T & C1TE grades respectively, with outstanding ability to satisfy different types of tiles application.   Tencent is encouraging their global business to build a low-carbon future, and OPTIMIX's manufacturing plant in Dongguan, China is accredited by ISO14001 Environmental Management System. Our products comply with Tencent's promise on low-carbon from production, logistics and application site.
